Cameron has loved Hudson since his arrival. With that said, he also doesn't understand the concept of gentle or that Hudson is more fragile than he is. Hudson has been laid on, kicked punched, smothered, tickled, etc. Well, this week he got his revenge, even if was an accident since he doesn't quite have control of his motor skills yet. Cameron thought it was funny.

We're not going to take it
Cameron has loved Hudson since his arrival. With that said, he also doesn't understand the concept of gentle or that Hudson is more fragile than he is. Hudson has been laid on, kicked punched, smothered, tickled, etc. Well, this week he got his revenge, even if was an accident since he doesn't quite have control of his motor skills yet. Fountain
This weekend Grammy and Grandpa Curt came over to spend the day with us on Saturday. Cameron calls Grammy "Gemmy" because he has trouble with his "r's." He also calls both his Grandpa's "Papa." We dressed the boys up in their Hawaiian shirts courtesy of their uncle Drew and had a photo op with Grandpa Curt. He's uploaded some cute pictures of the boys and them playing with Grammy. While they were here, we went up to Highland Village to eat and play. Cameron loves playing in the water fountains. He can even say the word. He likes to drop coins into this fountain and splash in the water.
He didn't quite know what to do at the other fountains because they sporadically shoot out of the ground. He walked up to one and bent his head directly over the hole. He learned very quickly that if he did that he would be squirted in the face. Cameron then became uncertain about whether he wanted to play in this type of fountain. Despite the fear of being sprayed with water in the face, he saw how much fun the other kids were having and joined in. Then he became a spectator and just watched all of their fun. Of course the rest of us were entertained by watching how cute he is.

Babbling
Hudson is still huge. No changes there. He's becoming more and more social everyday. He loves to have attention. Once he gets your attention, he'll smile and start talking to you. He'll just babble and carry on a conversation with you. I wonder if Cameron still understands gibberish. Maybe he can translate for us one day.
Potty Training
I attempted to really start potty training Cameron a couple weeks ago and after all day practicing he finally went on the potty that night. I stopped training him the next day because I found out about my grandfather and knew we'd being going out of town. I haven't started back yet. However, this past week whenever I go to the restroom he gets upset because he wants to be the only one who goes on the potty. He'll immediately ask to go and sit on the toilet. Of course he never has to go. I think he just likes to look at the magazines as you can see. The pictures we'll be great for embarrassing him in years to come.
We bought big boy underwear this past week to start training again next week. Cameron is very excited about them because they have dinosaurs on them. He roars whenever he sees them. He thinks dinosaurs are monsters so he'll say "I'm a monster!" and starts roaring at everyone he sees. I'm sure it will make for a fun week.

2 months old!
Weight: 14 lbs. 5 oz. - 97%
Length: 23 3/4 in. - 75%
Hudson is a big boy and is very healthy. He's slept through the night a couple times. Hopefully it will become a regular thing soon. He is very good natured and loves to smile and talk to you. We took pictures of all 3 grandkids this weekend. Check them out on the left.
Labor Day Weekend
Because of my grandpa's death, we drove to St. Louis for the funeral on Thursday. We spent about 11 hours in my mini van with my two boys, my brother Josh, his wife Jenny, their daughter Emma, and my brother Jacob. Yes we drove 11 hours with a 22 month old and 2 babies that are 2 months old. Luckily the kids were very well behaved on the trip there and back. By the way, portable DVD players are a wonderful invention.
It was wonderful to get to spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday with my mom's family considering the circumstances. We enjoyed good food, old stories and being entertained particularly by Cameron. I hope that we are able to spend time together more often.
When we weren't with my mom's family, we were with Aunt Susan and Uncle Tim. They let us crash at their house and fed us all weekend. So much for me losing any baby weight this week.
Even though the reason we were brought together over the weekend was a sorrowful one, I truly enjoyed getting to be with my family and share my little ones with everyone. There's a folder of pictures on the left of the weekend. Above is a picture of the grandkids and great-grandkids except for Joseph.

My grandpa

This picture was taken last Labor Day and this Labor Day my grandpa is no longer with us. On Tuesday, August 26th, my grandfather, Clarence Taylor passed away after battling lung cancer. He was a good grandfather and great-grandfather. We always knew that he loved us and that he would be there if we ever needed him. He and grandma were at every major event in our lives. You could count on him to show up and make you laugh. Grandpa could quickly bring a smile to your face usually because he was poking fun at you. I'm thankful for the time that I had with him and sad that my children won't get to know him like I did.
