Little Swimmers

On Friday, all Cameron could talk about was how he wanted to swim when we went to Grammy's and Papa's on Saturday to see the Aunt Betty, Alex, and Lauren. So in preparation we went and pick out a life vest to buy and wear while we were swimming. On Saturday morning, Cameron was still excited about going over there, but now he had decided that he absolutely did not want to swim. I took our vest and swim gear just in case he changed his mind. Once he makes up his mind, there's usually no changing it. Once we got there, nothing changed he wanted to do everything but swim. We played b-ball, shot water guns, and played with toys. Hudson and I decided to stick our toesies in the water to check it out. Hudson absolutely loved it and started whaling around and making a big mess, not that that's unusual. Cameron decided to check out what we were doing and stick his toes in too. Once he did, he decided now he wanted to swim. So we swam a little before lunch and little after. Hudson took really quickly to the water and Cameron loved trying to swim on his own since he was wearing his new life vest. Papa Curt already has tons of pics up on http://www.danbecky.com/.

Playdates

We had two playdates the past two weeks and the boys loved every minute of it with their friends. The first was a week ago this past Thursday. Since it rained we went to a place in FM called Boomerangs. It's an indoor play facility filled with bounce houses and games. The funny thing about going was that Cameron and the rest of the kiddos enjoyed sitting and pretend racing cars more than jumping around. Hudson got to get in on the action this time too. He got to play in the toddler area and was loving every minute of it. He also got lots of lovin' from his friend Emma. I had more trouble getting Hudson to leave than I did with Cameron.

Then this past Tuesday, we got to go to Kid's Kastle since it was such a pretty day. Cameron ran around like a wild man and had a blast with all of his buddies from church. Hudson had a fun time swinging and being loved on by all the moms. We are so blessed to have such a great group of moms and kiddos for our boys to hang out with.

New Backyard

Two weeks ago we finally got our new backyard. We were suppose to get it at the end of April, but due to the rain it took a little while longer. We extended our patio and had sod laid. Cameron was so excited once it was finished. He ran around in circles in his galoshes talking about his new backyard. We now have a sand/water table set up on the back porch along with our new table and chairs and grill. The boys absolutely love getting to go outside now and play.

Mom's Day

Yes, I know it was last week. I'm a little behind on things. So what's new? Anyway, we spent the weekend as a family. I enjoyed getting to spend time with my 3 favorite boys. We got to play at the park and relax, as much as possible with 2 youngsters. We got to have ice cream and eat at Texas Roadhouse. Yum! As you can see, Cameron enjoyed the chocolate ice cream so much he was left with a joker face. Hudson loves it just as much. He just doesn't waste any of it. I'm so blessed to have the most precious two boys in the whole world who have really started enjoying one another's company.

Uncle Jacob and Aunt Madeline

No that's not a typo. That's what Cameron kept calling Uncle Justin on Friday and what he calls Uncle Justin's girlfriend. Justin and Madeline flew in on Friday to see us and Madeline's family. Cameron was so excited someone came to visit him. He loved hanging out with the two of them, but he kept accidentally calling Uncle Justin, Uncle Jacob. It was so funny at least to Madeline and me. We got to play at Chick-fil-a and do a little shopping in Grapevine. Hudson loved playing at the playground just as much as Cameron did. Cameron was so sad to see them go. He cried after we got home when he realized they weren't coming back to play anymore with him. Hopefully we'll get to see them again soon.

10 down, 2 more to go

Today Hudson turned 10 months old. Both Dan and I were talking about how he's becoming more and more like a little boy and less like a baby. Hudson is very mobile and has become a climber courtesy of watching his older brother. Yes he got up there by himself to get a toy out of the basket. He's a quick study and now knows how to even flush a toilet from watching his big brother. I'm afraid to find out what else he's going to pick up on so quickly. If it's going to the bathroom in the toilet, Dan and I would be totally fine with that. Hudson still eats everything in sight, but has loss weight because of his increased activity. He's been standing up by himself, but hasn't really tried to walk yet unless you count him leaping to get to me. Hudson is a big time momma's boy and I plan on enjoying it while it lasts. It's hard to believe that he's been with us almost a year now, but at the same token it's hard to imagine our lives without him.

Our World

Our world has been busy, tiring, loud and wet as of late. The week before Dan did tons of traveling and this week he didn't do any and got his placements for the month. YEAH! One more month to go. However it rained all this past week. Yuck! And as of this moment is still raining. So we were stuck in doors a lot of the time. That could be why the boys decided to use the basket as a boat. We've had sick kiddos and fit pitching episodes (terrible twos have arrived). We've gotten pictures taken (Hudson's nine months which you'll soon see) and played at Bonkers with friends. We've met friends to shop and workout. We watched the draft and still don't know what Jones was thinking in picking up McGee. We've pretended to be cowboys 'aka' "Woody" and showed off our beltbuckle to everyone who would look or listen.

In a nutshell, I did a lot of refereeing and chauffeuring this week. The boys are getting to the point where they really want to play with each other as long as they don't have to share their toys (the toys that aren't theirs, but have decided they belong to them because they want them). Cameron now gets all the toys he wants, hoards them, and tries to put them in a place where Hudson can't reach them. Hudson watches Cameron do all this, decides he wants to be like his brother and play with the same toys. He then waits til Cameron moves on to something else and makes his attempt to snag a toy while Cameron isn't looking. Then the drama unfolds and the refereeing begins and hence the fit pitching soon follows. Then there are moments when the boys get along beautifully and share without asking and our super affectionate with each other and don't pitch a fit or whine to get their way. Sure wish the later was true all of the time.
