A White Christmas!

On Christmas morning we woke to the white covered ground and a tree surrounded by tons of presents. The boys were so excited to see what Santa had brought them. Cameron was great about opening presents. He would open one and keep going because he was excited to see the next one. He even opened several of Hudson's presents because he didn't care to open any after he opened his Buzz Lightyear action figure. I think Cameron's favorite thing was the Batcave that Grammy and Papa Curt gave him.

After lunch we were suppose to go up to Tulsa for Christmas dinner and spending the Holiday with Dan's family, but we ended up staying home because the roads were too icy in Oklahoma. Since I hadn't bought anything to make for Christmas dinner, Dan ran to Jack in the Box, pretty much the only place open. We think we might actually make this a Christmas tradition. It sure would be a lot easier on me. We had a wonderful day as a family, and Cameron is already talking about next Christmas.

Snowy Christmas Eve

It started snowing today and according to the meterologist this would probably the only time in our lives we'd have snow on Christmas Eve or a White Christmas. So we had to take advantage of it, even though the wind was blowing like crazy. As soon as we got outside Cameron wanted to go back in because it was so windy, but Hudson was having a blast sticking his tongue out catching snowflakes. We went inside to go to the front and Hudson started balling because he wanted to stay outside, but instantly calmed down once he knew his time in the snow wasn't over. Cameron then started throwing snowballs and having more fun like his brother. Then we all ran in to get hot chocolate and warm up.

Cookies

A couple of weeks ago we made cookies for Santa with the help of the boys. They weren't the prettiest sugar cookies, but they were edible and didn't last long so we had to make more for Santa. On Christmas Eve, the boys set out chocolate chip cookies and egg nog for Santa. Of course the boys had to make sure everything was edible for Santa, so Hudson licked a cookie and Cameron stole a bite from one. Then both of them washed it down with some of Santa's egg nog. Cameron was left with an egg nog stash when he was done. Then it was off to read the "Night before Christmas" and be tucked away in bed in hopes that Christmas would hurry on it's way.

Gaylord Hotel

On Saturday the 19th, we headed to the Gaylord Texan to check out the decorations with Grammy. The boys loved the choo-choo trains and the giant gingerbread house. You could hear both of them yelling choo-choo! We stood in line to see Santa and were expecting Hudson to cry like last time. He started too, but the photographer knew just what to do and had Hudson cracking up along with Cameron. Since the photo turned out so good, Grammy had to buy one of the cutest boys in the world! Hopefully, we'll have it up soon. I only got a few pics of the boys before my camera died. I was so disappointed I didn't get more because their expressions were priceless.

Big boys!

The boys are getting so BIG!! They love playing with each other now, which means more refereeing for me. Hudson wants to do everything his brother does including eating the same things like a whole apple. But one instance Hudson was doing something that Cameron decided he wanted to do too. Hudson got a train station house and placed it on the floor. Then with incredible balance he climbed on top and stood there like the statue of liberty. The reason this was incredible is because Hudson's feet are so big they were hanging off the roof of the building, but somehow he would manage to stay standing up for minutes. Of course after seeing Hudson accomplish something he's never tried, Cameron had to try it too.

Visiting Santa

I was brave and attempted to have the boys pictures taken with Santa early. Cameron did great. The only downside was he still had a little bit of a black eye from running into Hudson's head. Hudson however, screamed his head off. Santa was extremely frightening to him and no amount of jumping around and acting crazy on my behalf would get a smile out of him.

Trim the Tree

Due to me being under the weather this year, Dan did a lot of decorating the tree with the help of our two boys. They did a great job. Cameron liked to hang several ornaments on one branch and Hudson liked to take them off. You can tell he got busted for it in the picture below!

Friday the 13th/Our 5 year Anniversary

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary. We went to dinner minus the kiddos to the Melting Pot. It was very yummy. It's amazing how fast time has gone by and at the same time how it seems like we've been together forever. We have been truly blessed.

Wedding Festivities

On November 6th, Justin and Madeline got hitched. We all traveled to Houston for the weekend to join in the festivities. We all had a fun and everything was beautiful. Pictures are posted to the right soon. Yeah, Justin is married!

Trick or Treat!

On Halloween, after the boys lived in their costumes all day, we set out to go trick or treating. The boys absolutely loved it. What's better than getting free candy? Hudson was doing so well til he got the wrapper off a sucker and started eating. Then he lost interest in getting more because he was ready to eat all of his. After knocking on doors, the boys and family came back to the house to answer ours. Cameron had a blast dropping candy into bags and showing off his spiderman moves.

Spiderman, Spiderman!

Cameron has wanted a spiderman party since Hudson's first birthday. So on his real birthday Dan brought Mickey D's for lunch and he got to open his spiderman presents and eat mini cupcakes. Then on Halloween, he got to have his spiderman party that he'd been wanting forever. He had a few friends come over dressed up of course. Cameron was spiderman as you might have guessed and Hudson was Buzz Lightyear. They all had a great time and he got so many fun things. The pictures are posted on the right of his big 3 year party!

Fallling Leaves

Before Cameron's birthday we tried to get the house and yard ready for our friends. So we raked the back yard so we could have a candy hunt. It was hard to get the leaves in piles thanks to Cameron and Hudson. Every chance they got they would run and destroy the piles.

Pumpkin Patch 2

One day after the gym I attempted to take the boys to the pumpkin patch by myself. Little did I know that every other preschool in the world was going to be there. We didn't stay long, but we played and had a good time while we were there.

Aggies at the Park

The weekend of the Red River shoot out, I dressed the boys in thier Aggie gear to show our lack of support for either team. We had a great time all day and ended the day by going to the park to play.

Dress Up

The boys really wanted to put their costumes on, but not wanting to ruin them before Halloween, I let them put on old costumes and run around the house. Cameron was a pirate and Hudson was a monkey. The monkey suit was a little small but Hudson didn't mind because he liked the padded stomach. They ran around and played forever in them and I practically had to pull the costumes off of them before they took their naps.

Pumpkin Festival

On Monday October 12th, me, the boys, Larrie, Will and Clay all drove to the Dallas Arboretum for the day. The boys all had so much fun riding in the van together, it might have been their favorite part. The Arboretum was beautiful and full of wonderful houses and places for the boys to explore. It was also one of the muddiest places I've ever been and my boys were proof of that. They were absolutely filthy and I had to wash their clothes 3 times to get them clean. Cameron and Hudson enjoyed getting to play with the Tarvers so much that after we ate and got home, there were tears shed because they were sad to see their friends go.

Firetrucks!

On Saturday the 10th, we went to the fire station open house. This was our second year to go. The boys loved climbing all over the trucks and getting tons of freebies including their fire hats. Cameron couldn't tell you his favorite, but I think it was a toss up between the free popcorn and getting to pretend drive the fire truck. No question, Hudson's favorite thing was the popcorn.

Playdoh

A couple Fridays ago, Dan had the day off and the boys took full advantage of having their daddy home to play with. Cameron wanted to play with playdoh and Hudson had to join in. This was Hudson's first time he got to play with playdoh. Of course, he tried to eat it once or twice, but then he soon got the hang of it and started smashing it. It was fun to watch all three of them playing together. After they were done playing, Hudson gave massages.

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday October 3rd we went to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. It was the perfect day to go. The family went with Grammy and Papa Curt. The boys had tons of fun playing with pumpkin and jumping in the bounce houses. Cameron said his favorite part was riding the choo choo train. 15 months

On October 2nd, Hudson turned 15 months old. The following Monday he went for his check up. Here's the stats:

Weight: 24.6 lbs = 50%

Height: 32 in. = 75%

His weight was a little less than 2 pounds of what Cameron weighs. I weighed Cameron while we were there too. He weighed 26.4 lbs. Even though they weigh close to the same, there is still quite a bit of height difference. My baby is now a little boy.

Wagon Ride

Yesterday, I took the boys on a wagon ride around the neighborhood. Half way through, Hudson attempted to climb out while the wagon was moving and I ended up dropping my camera to keep him from falling out. Now the camera is broke; it works, but there's a blurry spot in all of the pictures now. Needless to say there won't be many pics until I get a new camera. On a good note, the boys had a great time.

Park playtime

On Saturday we went to the park to play. Hudson and Cameron quickly made friends like they do everywhere they go. Hudson learned to slide on the big slide without any help and they both got to spin on the spinner (not sure what its called). Cameron showed Dan how he can swing on the big swing by himself. As always Cameron didn't want to leave when it was time go, but Hudson started running to the car because he was worn out.

Big boy

Hudson turns 15 months on Friday. He doesn't look like a baby anymore; instead he looks like a little boy. He wants to be one too just like his brother. He climbs on to everything, wants to be able to eat at the table with everyone else, and always need utensils if everyone else has one. Every day after his nap, he eats his snack at the little table. Before I know it, I'm going to have two big boys.

Toons in mommy's bed

We went to rent a movie from blockbuster and the boys picked Lion King 1 1/2. I let them curl up in my bed to watch it while I was doing laundry. Needless to say, they didn't watch the movie for long. Instead they decided to use my bed as a trampoline and wrestling ring.

Perfect Day

Yesterday was a great day. We woke up late and layed around lazily in bed watching cartoons with the boys. Then we got up, cleaned up, and went to Chicken Express for lunch. Yumm! After lunch, we went to Kid's Kastle to play. Just like last time Hudson spent most of his time on the suspension bridge while Cameron played in the castle area and loved showing off that he could climb ladders all by himself. Next, we went home for naps and I got to go out shopping for a little while by myself. Yeah! Then we had Mexican food for dinner and it was topped off with dessert at Culvers. The reason the day was so perfect was the fact that we got to spend the whole day enjoying each other and having fun as a family.
