Chatterbug

While we were gone in Houston, it sounded like Hudson was starting to pick on a few new words. It sounded like he said "more" one time and in the right context. He was wanting more food. It also sounded like he was starting to say "hey" to get someone's attention. But we know for sure now that he is saying "dada!" He started saying it last weekend and continues to say it all the time.

Lions and tigers and bears . . .

Oh My! Sadly Dan had to leave us on Monday, so to cheer the boys up we went to the zoo with Nana, Jenna, Josh, Jenny, and Emma. Because it was spring break, the place was a mad house. Luckily we got there early. Cameron had a blast. He loved crawling into the tunnels and looking at all the different animals. His favorites were the fish, meerkats, bears, and tigers. Hudson loved the fish and meerkats too. Don't worry, Hudson got to get out of the stroller this time. The best part was at the very end. We were watching an orangutan from a shaded glass area while he was roaming around on the other side of his habitat. When he saw Cameron watching him, he walked all the way from that side up to the glass to see him. They started making faces at each other.

Hotel Life

While we were in Houston, on Friday through Sunday night we stayed in a hotel. It was hard because you had to be super quiet when anyone was sleeping and Cameron didn't want to go to sleep ever. I'm sure it was because we weren't sleeping. When the boys weren't sleeping or trying to go to sleep, they had a lot of fun playing together. Cameron's favorite part about staying in the hotel was riding up and down in the elevator.

Houston's Children's Museum

The Monday after we got back from Tulsa, Nanna flew into town. We got spend some time together doing some shopping, laundry and packing for our trip to Houston that following weekend. My mom, the boys, and I left Friday morning and drove to Houston. Dan flew in and met us there. On Saturday we got to go to the Children's Museum. Luckily we got there early. We didn't know it was the grand reopening. It was good because we got free admission and free food, but bad because lots of other people were there for that very reason. Cameron had a lot of fun exploring and playing with the different exhibits. Poor Hudson was confined to the stroller most of the time. However, we all had fun getting to hang out with Josh, Jenny, Emma, and Jacob.

Oklahoma

We've been really busy the past couple of weeks, so I have several blogs to do. The first is about our trip to Tulsa to Aunt Betty's house as Cameron says. On the first weekend in March we drove up to Tulsa on a Friday evening. This was our first trip with Cameron being potty trained. So needless to say we made a couple stops and sometimes it took us awhile to even find a restroom to stop at. About an hour outside of Dallas, Dan and I discovered we left our church clothes on our bed. We seriously at this point considered turning around because the boys had been pitching fits and we had also just found out that the portable dvd player was no longer working. However, we decided to keep going and made it late that night to Tulsa. The next morning Cameron got up and was so excited to see everyone. In his excitement, he started running and slipped and fell. He busted his lip pretty badly, but luckily didn't need stitches. After that, things started to go a lot smoother. We got to visit with Dan's grandparents for breakfast and eat dinner with Barbara, Joby, Betty, Bruce, Lauren, grandmom, and granddad. Cameron had so much fun playing on the swingset and swimming in Aunt Betty's tub. Hudson did too.

Kids Kastle

Friends of mine from college, Caleb and Brandy, were in town visiting their family, baby Abigail and Bonnie, and made time to see us last Wednesday. We met at Kids Kastle. Their daughter, Ellery, is a week older than Cameron, but looks much older than that because Cameron is so small. Cameron took to her right away. Hudson, being the ladies man, took to Ellery's mom, Brandy. They had fun climbing around, sliding and swinging. Even Hudson got to swing for the first time. After playing at the park and eating lunch together, Cameron was very sad that Ellery had to go back to Houston. He's hoping he'll get to see her again soon.

8 Months Old!

On Monday Hudson turned 8 months old. Our big boy is getting even bigger. The next day we discovered he was getting his second tooth. Hudson is crawling and pulling up. He's trying so hard to be like his big brother. He constantly wants to play with him.

Not to leave Cameron out, he's a pretty good big brother. He loves Hudson a lot and can't wait for him to be old enough (notice I didn't say big enough, he's already that) to play with him more.

Cruiser

Hudson has started crawling forward now. On Saturday, he started going forward instead of reverse. Now he gets around all over the place. He loves to crawl to anything edible or toys that Cameron's playing with.
