One Week to Go!

If I had my choice, I would have Hudson today, but instead we will be having him a week from today. We pushed the date back to July 2nd because it works better with Dan's work schedule. So by this time next week we will be a family of four. Pray that everything goes well that day and I will post pictures once I'm home that weekend.

Water Baby

You wouldn't know it by looking outside now, but this morning was beautiful. I've been meaning to set up Cameron's pool and thought today would be a good day to try it. Well, after several attempts at blowing it up (which you'll see how successful I was in the pictures), I decided to go with Plan B. What kid doesn't like playing in the sprinklers? Cameron had a lot of fun and hopefully one day later this week he'll get to go swimming in his pool.

Two and Half Weeks to Go!

Here's the last picture of Hudson before we actually get to see him in person. He's looking directly at the camera but does have what appears to be his hand over his face. Unless I go into labor before June 30th, we only have 2 1/2 weeks to go. He's already dropped and in position to come. Hopefully he'll wait at least another week so he won't be considered a preemie like Cameron. When he comes we know he'll be bigger than Cameron was. According to the ultrasound today he already weighs 6 lbs 12 oz.

All dressed up

It's perfectly normal for kids to want to be like their parents and be bigger than they are. Cameron particularly has this fascination with wearing adult shoes, especially women's ones. He'll put my flip flops on or dress shoes and try to scoot around the house. I would be concerned about this but I have a brother who's name is J__h that use to do this too. Wouldn't it have been great if mom could have sent me that picture to post. Anyway he turned out pretty normal considering he liked to walk around in mom's heels. So I'm sure Cameron will too. Isn't he handsome!

How not to treat your baby brother

As you know Cameron has a monkey that is his baby. We've been talking to him a lot about how we treat our babies and take care of them. Most of the time he is really sweet and affectionate. I had the infant carrier out because I was cleaning it, and he would put his baby inside and rock him to sleep telling all of us "SH!!" He'll even cuddle with his monkey and sometimes sleep with him. I know your thinking that's great. He'll be such a good brother.

Well, he also will drop his monkey for no reason and sometimes he'll even sit on him. The worst thing he's done is stuff him into his little people bus and take him for a ride which doesn't sound that bad. However, he rides on top of both of them. Hopefully, Hudson will fair better than the monkey.

I debated whether to put this picture up, mostly because no one likes showing off their stretch marks. Those are courtesy of Cameron and the preeclampsia I had last time. However the picture was very sweet. Cameron constantly runs up to my belly and says baby. Then he pulls my shirt up to give my belly hugs and kisses. If this is any indication, he'll be a really good big brother. Right now the plan is to have Hudson on June 30th unless he decides to make his appearance before then. So one month to go!

Monkeys!

Cameron loves all animals, but especially monkeys. I'm sure that's because his nursery was decorated in them. Grammy came over to watch Cameron on Saturday night so Dan and I could go out. While we were out, we bought 2 monkeys. We let Cameron pick which one he wanted and the other is waiting for Hudson. Cameron carries it around and calls it his baby. Hopefully he'll love his new baby brother as much as he does his new monkey.

Cameron also has a pair of monkey slippers that we bought him for Valentine's Day. He wasn't very interested in them then, but now he loves them. For no reason at all he'll bring them to one of us so we can help him put them on and wear them the rest of the day.
