Our World

Our world has been busy, tiring, loud and wet as of late. The week before Dan did tons of traveling and this week he didn't do any and got his placements for the month. YEAH! One more month to go. However it rained all this past week. Yuck! And as of this moment is still raining. So we were stuck in doors a lot of the time. That could be why the boys decided to use the basket as a boat. We've had sick kiddos and fit pitching episodes (terrible twos have arrived). We've gotten pictures taken (Hudson's nine months which you'll soon see) and played at Bonkers with friends. We've met friends to shop and workout. We watched the draft and still don't know what Jones was thinking in picking up McGee. We've pretended to be cowboys 'aka' "Woody" and showed off our beltbuckle to everyone who would look or listen.

In a nutshell, I did a lot of refereeing and chauffeuring this week. The boys are getting to the point where they really want to play with each other as long as they don't have to share their toys (the toys that aren't theirs, but have decided they belong to them because they want them). Cameron now gets all the toys he wants, hoards them, and tries to put them in a place where Hudson can't reach them. Hudson watches Cameron do all this, decides he wants to be like his brother and play with the same toys. He then waits til Cameron moves on to something else and makes his attempt to snag a toy while Cameron isn't looking. Then the drama unfolds and the refereeing begins and hence the fit pitching soon follows. Then there are moments when the boys get along beautifully and share without asking and our super affectionate with each other and don't pitch a fit or whine to get their way. Sure wish the later was true all of the time.

Shiny new beltbuckle

Today Cameron won a western belt buckle. It will take him about 10 years to grow into it, but he loves it just the same. Dan, me, the boys, Grammy, Papa Curt, and Aunt Em went to the Wild about Flower Mound festival today. The weather wasn't the greatest, but Cameron got to participate in a lot of fun things. He won the beltbuckle by winning first place in the stick horse rodeo. Basically he just walked around on his stick horse looking handsome in his cowboy hat and he won first in his division (ages 1-3). Cameron also got to ride a pony several times because the lady liked him so much. He got to pet animals; his favorite was the baby chicks. Cameron got to bounce and play. Poor Hudson was confined to the stroller most of the time. He wanted so badly to get out and play, maybe next year. Papa Curt got several good pictures; check them out at http://www.danbecky.com/.

Easter Weekend

It went by too fast. On Friday, Daddy got off work early and we got to go eat and play at Kid's Kastle. On Saturday, Grammy, Papa Curt, and Aunt Emily came over. The girls and the little boys went shopping at Grapevine Mills. Grammy bought Cameron Woody and Buzz Lightyear at the Disneystore. Cameron was quick to show off his cowboy moves when he got home. Hudson showed off his new Easter basket. He was so excited about his first Easter.

On Sunday my boys looked so handsome dressed up in their matching outfits (I'm going to do this for as along as I can get away with it). Then they got to see what the Easter Bunny brought them. They both were so excited to dig into their Easter Baskets. After Church that night, we hid eggs in the front yard since the weather cleared up. Cameron and Hudson went to search for all the eggs. Cameron was excited that he eggs were filled with candy. Hudson was more interested in eating the rocks instead of finding eggs.

Decorating Eggs

On Monday to prepare for the Easter Bunny, Cameron got to dye Easter Eggs and Daddy helped. Cameron had so much fun dropping the eggs into the cups. He even drew on a few with crayons. You'll have to ask him what he drew. The decorating didn't end there. After our doctors well check the next day, I took Hudson upstairs to lay down for his nap. When I came back, Cameron had a dry erase marker in hand and was sitting at the kitchen table marking on the eggs. So now the eggs have black specks on them. At least they were the only things with black marks on them!

Easter Eggstravaganza

Last Saturday, some of our friends we met through Dan's work came over to spend the day. They have a son named Jacob that Cameron just loves to play with. Hudson loved looking at Jacob's sister Amelia. She's only 2 1/2 months old so I think that made Hudson feel good that he was finally bigger than someone else. We all went up to Parker's square to hunt Easter eggs and play in the bounce houses. The egg scramble was amazing. Cameron ran out there to get eggs and in a flash they were all gone. He did great and got several. He immediately opened the eggs to get the candy, but since he's a candy snob (thanks to mom and dad only buying good candy) he didn't eat any except the smarties. Cameron then did one of his favorite things, "go jump." Cameron could jump in a bounce all day long. Hudson got to enjoy all the festivities from his shaded seat in the stroller. How wonderful it would be to have someone push you around and cater to your every need. We did this until the parents got tired and then went home to enjoy air conditioning while the kiddos continued to play nonstop.

9 months old!

On April 2nd, Hudson turned 9 months old. Wow, in 3 months he'll be a year old. He's already starting to look more and more like a toddler and less like a baby. Hudson is very mobile now. He can get anywhere and can be very sneaky about it. Last week, Cameron came into the kitchen and told me "stairs mommy." I wasn't quite sure if he was wanting to go up so I thought I'd check it out. Hudson had decided he was going up the stairs by himself and had made it to the third step. He's also very sneaky when it comes to food. If we're not paying attention, he'll sneak over to Cameron's little table and try to steal his food. Hudson can pull up, scoot along things and even tried to stand by himself yesterday. I still think it will be a little while before he walks. Hudson can clap, high five, wave bye, and can say 4 words (mama, dada, buba, & hey). Hudson is our eater. He'll try anything. Hudson other favorite thing to do besides eating is playing with Cameron. He follows him around and wants to be right in the middle of whatever he's doing. That could be why he's been in the rocking chair so much lately. He wants to be just like his big brother.

He has his 9 month check up on Tuesday so I'll add his stats then. I know he's lost weight since he's been crawling.

****UPDATE****

Hudson stats are:

Weight: 21lbs 4oz = 52% (Doc was a little concerned because he's not gaining as much anymore. Could it be because the kid is so active! He sure doesn't lack for food!)

Height: 29 1/2 in = 90% (He's going to be a tall boy!)

Head circumference = 50% (At least his head isn't too big for his body!)

Hudson was found to be anemic so we are supplement iron now. Hopefully this will be cleared up when he is tested again at his one year check up.

Going Bonkers!

On Tuesday March 24th, (yes I'm almost 2 weeks behind on blogs, I can't imagine why!), Grammy came over to spend the day with us. We took her to Going Bonkers and we all climbed around and had a lot of fun. Grammy got her work out for the day following Cameron around. Then we went to Jason's Deli for a yummy lunch.

On Saturday, Grammy came back over and brought Papa Curt and Aunt Emily with her. We all went to Peter Piper's pizza and played lots of games and filled our tummies with pizza. Even Hudson got to have some. The kid will eat anything you give him. Grammy and Papa Curt also brought the boys fun Easter presents to play with. Cameron and Hudson both immediately started playing with their toys.
